The Pottawattamie County Tourism Council is offering up grants for 2021! With all the effects of COVID, the Tourism group knows this is the year to help out, so any rural Pottawattamie city or a 501(c)3 organization from the city can apply for a one-time $500 grant to be used for tourism purposes such as signage, business district advertising, or town events, etc. A total of 12 grants will be given out, and only one per town, so timing will be important as the deadline is March 1 to submit by email.
As we move into this year with vaccines, 2 sesquicentennials (Walnut and Shelby), and possibly the largest Carson Rodeo yet, it’s hard not to get excited for all this year can bring! It’s especially exciting because they say local area travel will be huge! With parks and trails and outdoor activities being at the height of entertainment, we have to figure Pottawattamie will be at the forefront of notice with our water trail, our bronze eagle statue tour, the best parks, and some fabulous events!
WIDA is happy to announce the Pottawattamie County Tourism Board has entrusted us to be a big part of this project! We will be collecting the final reports and setting up the reimbursement for these local grants.
So let’s find new fun ways to bring tourism to Pott. Co.! For more information on this grant application, email me at EricaForWIDA@gmail.com
