Not sure what to do this weekend? I’ve got one big answer for you: Treynor Days! They have a fun-filled, 3-day weekend planned for you! This is the one big blow-out event for the year in Treynor! You can’t go wrong with a mostly-free festival the last weekend in June in a small town!
The golf course, otherwise known as the Treynor Recreation Area has pulled pork sandwiches from 5 to 9 Friday night, there’s a petting zoo, games, and prizes from 6-8pm along with the Keg Creek Brewery & Vine Street Cellars taste-testing and from 7-11pm, you can catch The Clean and Easy Band complete with a beer garden. Plus, the fireworks start around 10! Who doesn’t love a good fireworks show?
Saturday kicks off with a sand volleyball tournament at 9am at TRA and at 10, there will be carnival games, pony rides, and a silent auction at the community building. Also starting at 10 and running till 3pm, Treynor will be hosting its first ever car show complete with a beer garden just west of the fire station. That’s followed up by the Helicopter Dedication at 10:30 and the 100th Anniversary Celebration of the American Legion at the Veteran’s Plaza. If you haven’t had a chance to check out the helicopter, it’s worth the stop! Impressive from the road, but even more so from close up!
From 11am to 2pm, lunch will be served by the Junior Treynor Women and from 1 to 1:45, they will host the kids and adult cake walk. Silent auction winners will be announced at 1:45. Adult bingo follows from 2 to 3 and free kids’ bingo at the Fire Hall. From 3 to 4, there will be a hydrant party outside Fire Hall sponsored by the Cardinal Core and the weather’s looking perfect for it!
Silos will be hosting an Italian buffet from 5 to 9pm and Cadillac Lemon will be playing till midnight! It’s the perfect vibe to end a warm summer night with food and dancing!
Sunday starts off with pancakes! The Silver Keg Feeders will serve from 8 to 10 at the community center followed by the community church service at 10:30. At noon, the Treynor Days Open Golf Tournament will finish off the weekend.
I really can’t say it enough – small town events make for the best events! Grab your cooler, your sunscreen, your sense of humor, your neighbors, and enjoy! Remember that simply showing up is supporting local!
